Once again, fashion and music have traveled down the same path to success. L.A.-based singer/songwriter, Laura Michelle , is about to release an enchanting and very self-expressive video on Friday, June 24, 2016, pairing together timeless fashion and mesmerizing music.
Music has been a huge part of Laura’s life since she can remember. She started singing as a child and by the time she was in high school, she was writing her own original lyrics. At this point of her career, she is thrilled to be launching her debut album titled “Novel With No End.” There is an amazing amount of meaning wrapped up in this album and especially within the new single turned video, “Chuck Norris.” The song is a whimsical pop anthem about unleashing the kung-fu master within each of us. The song symbolizes self-empowerment and authenticity.
The video stars Chuck Norris, who was a deep source of inspiration and bonding for Laura and her father, as their favorite past time was watching Norris’s Walker, Texas Ranger. At age 15, Laura, tragically lost her father and found her self dealing with more grief than a kid that age could handle. Over the next few years a culmination of hard work and destiny lead to this iconic music video collaboration between Laura Michelle and Chuck Norris. Laura’s father has been her inspiration throughout this entire production.
This fun and flirty video showcases many of Laura’s favorite designers coupled with sentimental pieces, including jewelry her father gifted her before he passed away when she was a child. The extremely talented Jill Christiansen was the stylist behind the music. Many of the ‘Rockstars of Fashion’ can be seen within the video, such as Alexander Wang, Gucci, Alexander McQueen, Christian Louboutin, Rolex, Jimmy Choo, and Henry Bendel, and all playing a starring role.
The new single and album was produced by an all-star line up of two-time Grammy winner Jarrett Zellea (Luther Vadross, Santana, Jay-Z). Jim Gorman (Avril Lavigne, Shakira) co-produced and co-wrote several tracks with Laura as well. Multi-Grammy-winner Rafa Sardina engineered and mixed, while a stellar group of musicians played with Laura on the new album, including drummer Mark Slutsky (Pink, Grace Potter, Kylie Minogue) and bassist Jon Button (Roger Daltrey, Sheryl Crow, Shakira).
Laura Michelle is a unique and very accomplished artist. You will become an instant fan once you watch the debut video on June 24th and listen to her captivating music. Laura sums up her music’s core message, “Growing up, I personified music; it became like an actual friend, in fact, my best friend. It became a shoulder to cry on when things were tough. No matter what my mood was or what was going on in my life, music seemed to understand me completely. If my music can be that for someone else, can help someone to feel not so alone, whether they are sad, happy, angry, whatever…then I’m happy because I know it’s made a difference.” Laura’s music can be purchased on iTunes.
